Headline: CW Energy/Sarvan: Solar and Green Hydrogen Poised to Be Future Energy Sources
Tarık Sarvan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CW Enerji, highlighted the increasing importance of sustainable energy solutions globally, emphasizing solar and green hydrogen as future energy sources. In line with combating the global climate crisis and sustainable development goals, Sarvan noted the growing demand for renewable energy sources, with solar and hydrogen energy emerging as future solutions. He underscored the importance of these energy sources due to their renewable and eco-friendly nature, stating that solar energy is one of the world's most abundant and renewable sources, while hydrogen complements it perfectly by enabling energy storage solutions. Hydrogen can be produced, stored, and converted into energy from renewable sources when needed, making solar and hydrogen two complementary elements in future energy systems.
In recent years, the hydrogen energy market has seen significant developments and investment. By 2024, investment in clean hydrogen projects is projected to reach $75 billion, a sevenfold increase from $10 billion in 2020. There are over 1,500 projects in the hydrogen value chain worldwide, covering areas from production to infrastructure development.
Sarvan pointed out that hydrogen and solar energy are viable solutions to the environmental issues caused by fossil fuels, with hydrogen providing a major advantage in achieving clean energy goals due to its potential to reduce carbon emissions to zero. Recognizing hydrogen's crucial role in the transition to clean energy, he emphasized its growing importance alongside renewable sources like wind and solar in combating the climate crisis. Sarvan mentioned the strategic importance of green hydrogen, which is environmentally more sustainable than other hydrogen sources, and noted serious investments from the EU in this area. He urged Turkey to capitalize on its significant hydrogen potential, highlighting the need to further develop its renewable energy infrastructure.
Sarvan also stressed the importance of developing hydrogen technologies for a carbon-free energy future, noting the potential of green hydrogen energy in storage solutions. CW Enerji is actively involved in green hydrogen production and storage systems, exporting technologies globally from Antalya. The company is committed to driving scientific and active efforts in green hydrogen development, aiming to provide continuous energy through safe and efficient storage systems.
In terms of employment, CW Enerji contributes significantly to local workforce development with its 1,500 staff, supporting Turkey's energy independence and the growth of the renewable energy sector. Through its high export capacity and sustainable energy projects, CW Enerji aids in reducing the trade deficit and supports Turkey's goal of decreasing its dependency on foreign energy. The company is dedicated to reducing energy dependence, working towards a sustainable future for upcoming generations.
