"Deutsche Bank Turns Profitable in the Third Quarter"

Deutsche Bank announced that it returned to profit in the third quarter, partly due to releasing provisions set aside for investor lawsuits related to its Postbank division. The bank's net profit attributable to shareholders was 1.46 billion euros for the third quarter, compared to a profit of 1.03 billion euros in the same period last year and a loss of 143 million euros in the second quarter of this year. Analysts had anticipated a profit of 1.52 billion euros for the third quarter. The post-tax profit exceeded expectations of 1.56 billion euros, reaching 1.67 billion euros. Revenue, however, fell short of the expected 7.31 billion euros at 7.5 billion euros.
