Intriguing Prospects: Dimon Considers Treasury Role if Harris Claims Victory
According to a report, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon may consider taking a role in the government, possibly at the Treasury Department, if Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris wins the U.S. presidential election. The report suggests that Dimon is not publicly disclosing this stance due to concerns over the repercussions if Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump were to win. The CEO of the largest bank in the U.S. has long been mentioned for high-level positions in U.S. economic policy. However, during a recent earnings call, Dimon stated that the likelihood of being asked to take on a role in government is "close to zero." He added, "And I probably won’t do it. But I always keep the right to rethink."
