Ihlas Holding Joins the "Green Transformation" through CK Energy Boğaziçi Elektrik

Foreks - İhlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) has received a YEK-G certificate through CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik with the aim of minimizing the environmental impacts of electricity consumption. With this certificate, it has been documented that the annual electricity consumption of İhlas Holding's building and Türkiye Hospital, totaling 13 million kWh, will be supplied from renewable energy sources.

Prioritizing eco-friendly practices against climate change, İhlas Holding received the "Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee System" (YEK-G) certificate through CK Enerji Boğaziçi Elektrik. This certification confirms that the annual electricity consumption of İhlas Holding's building, amounting to 10 million 406 thousand kWh, and the 2 million 614 thousand kWh annual electricity consumption of Türkiye Hospital, which operates in the health sector, will be fully covered by renewable energy sources.

İhlas Holding's acquisition of the YEK-G certificate and its preference for renewable sources to minimize environmental impact in electricity consumption is an important step towards leaving a cleaner world for future generations. With this certificate, the total annual electricity consumption of the group’s holding building and Türkiye Hospital, exceeding 13 million kWh, will now be met from renewable energy sources," he noted.

WHAT IS THE YEK-G CERTIFICATE? The Renewable Energy Resource Guarantee System, YEK-G, is a system that certifies that electricity is produced from renewable energy sources. The YEK-G certificate, which supports electricity generation based on renewable energy sources with the aim of minimizing the environmental effects of electricity generation, guarantees that the amount of renewable energy fed into the system corresponds to the amount of electricity consumed.

In the system designed to track all processes of the electricity produced from producer to consumer, utilizing the blockchain technology created by EPİAŞ, a certificate is issued for every 1 MWh of electricity produced at renewable energy plants (solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass).
