SunExpress to Train Maintenance Technicians in Collaboration with Eskişehir Technical University
Foreks - SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines (IS:THYAO) and Lufthansa, is launching an employment-guaranteed "Aircraft Maintenance Technician Career Development and Support Program" in collaboration with Eskişehir Technical University, aimed at providing qualified aircraft maintenance technicians to the aviation sector. The program aims to enhance students' competencies, preparing them for the industry and supporting their career journeys.
As part of the program, third and fourth-year students from the Aircraft Structure and Engine Maintenance and Aviation Electrical and Electronics programs at Eskişehir Technical University will work part-time at SunExpress, enjoying the same rights and benefits as all SunExpress employees. Students will have the opportunity to develop themselves through the experience gained during their internships completed within the SunExpress Maintenance Organization. Those who succeed will be employed full-time by SunExpress after graduation. Additionally, candidates will be able to participate in professional development training organized both domestically and internationally.
During the university-industry training cooperation ceremony, SunExpress Deputy General Manager Tuncay Eminoğlu emphasized the importance of the program for both young talents and the sector, stating, "With this training and employment program, we are creating a structure that will not only meet today's needs but also those of the future. This initiative will support the career journeys of our youth, enrich the talent pool of the SunExpress family, and provide the industry with qualified workforce."
Eskişehir Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Özcan stated regarding the program, "We are excited to elevate our nearly 40 years of educational activities aimed at training qualified aircraft maintenance technicians, in line with the needs of our rapidly developing country's aviation industry, through the university-industry training collaboration we have established with SunExpress. Through this collaboration, our students will open the doors to the aviation sector earlier and have the opportunity to better define their career goals and develop their competencies in a way that best meets sectoral expectations."
