Which Stocks Gained the Most on Borsa Istanbul Today?

The BIST 100 index significantly compensated for its losses this week while moving upward throughout the day.

The BIST 100 index started the day with gains, and after the Central Bank of Turkey's interest rate decision, an optimistic sentiment emerged in the markets regarding a potential rate cut in December, boosting its profits. Near the closing, the index rose to 9,380 points, marking an increase of up to 3.8%. The BIST 30 saw a rise of more than 4%, while the index excluding BIST 100 remained more limited, rising by 2.2%.

Today, the banking sector was the most significant gainer related to the Central Bank's interest rate decision. The banking index recorded a 6.7% increase as it approached the 13,500 points threshold. Following banking, the metal, holding, and real estate sectors were the next biggest gainers. No sectors finished in the red today, while the least gaining sectors were small and medium enterprises, tourism, and food, each rising by around 1%.

The biggest rising and falling stocks in the BIST 100 today were KOZAL and KOZAA, which reached their ceiling price following a merger decision. Other notable BIST 100 stocks in the top ranks included: AKBNK KLSER SAHOL EKGYO YKBNK

As the market approached closing, four stocks diverged negatively, listed as follows: GESAN PAPIL ADEL BTCIM

Across Borsa Istanbul, after KOZAL, IPEKE and BALAT were among the top gainers. ETILR, YAPRK, and PLTUR stocks were the biggest losers today. The highest trading volume in the BIST was shared by AKBNK, YKBNK, and ISCTR.

In the domestic foreign exchange market, as evening approached, the dollar/TL rose by nearly 0.15% and was just below 34.5. Euro/TL remained stable at 36.4, while gram gold found buyers at 2,958 TL, marking an increase of approximately 1.4%.

In international markets, the indecisive outlook in Asia reflected on European indices. Meanwhile, U.S. indices started the day in the negative, while the BIST was observed to positively diverge from global indices.
