Automotive Market Contracted by 4% in October

In October 2024, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 4% compared to October 2023, reaching 97,274 units. According to data released by the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), automobile sales in October 2024 decreased by 8.4% year-on-year to 75,662 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 15.2% to 21,612 units. The automobile and light commercial vehicle market grew by 40.1% compared to the average sales of the last ten years for October. The automobile market showed a 41% increase based on the ten-year average sales for October, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 37.1% based on the same average.

In the January-October period, Turkey's total automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 1.2% year-on-year to 947,166 units in 2024. During this period, automobile sales increased by 0.2% compared to the previous year, reaching 750,935 units, while the light commercial vehicle market decreased by 6.3% to 196,231 units.
