Compelling Headline: ECB's Vasle: We Must Continue to Lower Interest Rates Gradually
Bostjan Vasle, a member of the ECB's Governing Council and Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, stated that the European Central Bank should continue to reduce interest rates with "measured" steps. He emphasized that discussions about lowering rates below the inflation target or easing policy to stimulate growth are unnecessary at this point. Vasle argued that due to ongoing uncertainties regarding inflation, the ECB should proceed cautiously, saying, "We need to continue towards a neutral level with measured steps." He added, "There is no urgency to discuss going below the target or below the neutral rate. These are not current issues."
