Breaking Records: Nvidia Supplier SK Hynix Announces Unprecedented Profits
South Korean company SK Hynix, one of the world's largest memory chip manufacturers, reported a record quarterly profit driven by strong demand for its high-bandwidth memory (HBM) used in generative artificial intelligence. The company's operating profit for the July-September quarter reached an all-time high of 7.03 trillion won, recovering from a loss of 1.8 trillion won in the same period last year. Analysts had anticipated an operating profit of 6.8 trillion won. Total revenue for the three-month period surged about 94% compared to the previous year, reaching 17.57 trillion won, while expectations were for revenue of 18.11 trillion won.
