During the Berne Union Annual Meeting held in Hamburg from October 15-17, 2024, an agreement was signed between Turkish Eximbank and Qatar Development Bank (QDB), the national development bank responsible for official export support in Qatar, concerning cooperation in insurance/guarantee and reinsurance transactions.

The statement announced: "The cooperation agreement aims to provide credit/insurance and guarantee by Turkish Eximbank and QDB for the export of goods and/or services from their respective countries in projects jointly undertaken by firms based in Turkey and Qatar in third countries. The agreement envisions offering financing options not only through conventional means but also in accordance with interest-free banking principles under the assurance of the lead export support institution, to be determined on a transaction basis. It is intended to enhance our firms' access to additional financing resources for joint ventures in third countries, making them more competitive.

Turkish Eximbank has reinsurance agreements with export credit agencies from the U.S., the United Kingdom, France, Denmark, Austria, Sweden, Hungary, and Poland, in addition to QDB. The bank continues to negotiate similar strategic partnerships with other export credit institutions, regional/multinational financial institutions, and banks in its efforts to increase its contribution to our country’s exports."
