Compelling Title in English: Copper Market Surplus Reaches 54,000 Tons in August 2024 - ICSG
The International Copper Study Group (ICSG) revealed in its latest monthly bulletin that the global refined copper market registered a surplus of 54,000 tons in August, down from a surplus of 73,000 tons in July. ICSG noted that the market experienced a surplus of 535,000 tons in the first eight months of the year, compared to a surplus of 75,000 tons in the same period last year. In August, global refined copper production reached 2.32 million tons, while consumption was at 2.27 million tons. Adjusted for stock changes in China’s bonded warehouses, the surplus in August was 42,000 tons, compared to 63,000 tons in July.
