"Ministry of Culture and Tourism Allegedly Bans Kuvayi Milliye Work in Libraries"
The Communication Presidency's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) stated that the claim, "The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has banned Nazım Hikmet Ran's 'Kuvayi Milliye' work in public libraries," is not true. According to the DMM, the work in question is not Nazım Hikmet Ran's "Kuvayi Milliye," but rather a comic book version created by a cartoonist that narrates Nazım Hikmet's poem "Kuvayi Milliye Destanı" with illustrations.
The statement noted, "The book contains pages with sexually explicit depictions. Therefore, it was deemed inappropriate to be kept in the general access area of libraries utilized by citizens of all age groups."
The DMM's announcement included the following statements:
"The work continues to be available in libraries in a way that children cannot access. Numerous copies of dozens of works by Nazım Hikmet, including various editions of 'Kuvayi Milliye' or 'Kuvayi Milliye Destanı,' are accessible and can be borrowed by everyone in libraries."
