The First UTTS Installation in Turkey Has Been Completed
The first installation of the National Vehicle Identification System, which will prevent tax losses in fuel, has been completed. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey has authorized 78 companies to install the system at 1,000 locations across the country. The first installation of this national system was carried out by Turpak, one of the authorized companies.
The Vehicle Recognition Unit, installed next to the fuel tank of vehicles, becomes unusable once removed thanks to its special technology. Therefore, it requires careful and meticulous installation.
The first vehicle installation of the National Vehicle Identification System (UTTS) was carried out by Turpak, which has completed over 15 million installations of similar technology for fuel companies over the past 25 years. The system, which is planned to be applied to 8 million commercial vehicles across Turkey by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, aims to increase transparency in the sector by digitally recording fuel sales and combating the informal economy.
With the recent installation of the Vehicle Recognition Unit (TTB) and other equipment, license plate information will automatically be transmitted to the pump cash registers, preventing manual entries. Through this system, commercial vehicle owners will be able to account for their fuel purchases as expenses; however, they must complete the installation of the Vehicle Recognition Units (TTB) by December 31, 2024, to carry out these transactions.
How can vehicle owners proceed with the UTTS installation? It is crucial to choose authorized and professional vehicle installation services authorized by the Mint for this critical process performed next to the fuel tank. Turpak, one of the authorized UTTS companies that has gained significant experience from installing the system in over 15 million vehicles and various brands and models over 25 years, recently completed the first UTTS installation in Turkey. Many authorized companies are working to increase the number of service locations nationwide for vehicle installation. Turpak, which completed the first TTB installation, is providing service through over 300 authorized installation services and a 200-person mobile team across Turkey as part of the project. Additionally, they aim to quickly expand this network to over 400.
A significant step in combating the informal economy The Ministry of Treasury and Finance of the Republic of Turkey reports that with the UTTS, they aim not only to combat the informal economy but also to ensure economic transparency by leveling the competitive conditions in the sector. A significant increase in both public revenues and sectoral efficiency is expected with the full implementation of the system. Vehicle owners can obtain detailed information and create UTTS installation requests by visiting the website utts.org or calling the UTTS Call Center at 0850 474 8887.
