Turkey's Service Production Remains Stable Year-On-Year, Increases Month-On-Month
The service production index data for September has been released by the Turkish Statistical Institute. The obtained data shows that on an annual basis, the index remained stable while experiencing varying changes across different service sectors.
The service production index did not change year-on-year. In September 2024, the service production index remained stable compared to the same month of the previous year. Significant changes occurred in some sectors during this period. Notably, a decrease of 3.2% was recorded in transportation and storage services, while accommodation and food services showed an increase of 0.9%. Information and communication services also attracted attention with a 1.2% increase.
Real estate services displayed a remarkable increase of 18.8% during this period, while professional, scientific, and technical services experienced a 1.0% rise. However, a decrease of 0.7% was observed in administrative and support services.
The service production index increased by 0.3% on a monthly basis. In the monthly assessment, the service production index in September 2024 showed a 0.3% increase compared to the previous month. Detailed analysis of this increase revealed a 1.0% rise in transportation and storage services. Additionally, accommodation and food services increased by 0.2%.
In contrast, information and communication services experienced a decrease of 2.3%, while real estate services also declined by 2%. Professional, scientific, and technical services exhibited a positive trend with a 2% increase, but administrative and support services recorded a decrease of 0.3%. This data highlights the continuity and fluctuations within the service sector.
