Central Government Budget Posts a Deficit of 186.27 Billion TL in October

In October 2023, the central government budget recorded a deficit of 95 billion 461 million TL, while in October 2024, the deficit rose to 186 billion 271 million TL. The primary deficit in October 2023 was 28 billion 651 million TL, which increased to 50 billion 53 million TL in October 2024.

According to data released by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the central government budget expenditures in October 2024 amounted to 955.5 billion TL, budget revenues totaled 769.2 billion TL, and the budget deficit was 186.3 billion TL. Additionally, primary budget expenditures were 819.3 billion TL, with a primary deficit of 50.1 billion TL.

The statement mentioned:

"Central government budget expenditures as of October amounted to 955 billion 478 million TL. Interest expenses were 136 billion 219 million TL, while expenditures excluding interest reached 819 billion 260 million TL.

For 2024, the planned budget expenditure for the central government is 11 trillion 89 billion 37 million TL, of which 955 billion 478 million TL was spent in October. In the same month last year, expenditures were 569 billion 211 million TL. Budget expenditures in October increased by 67.9% compared to the same month last year. The realization rate of expenditures according to the budget allocations was 10.2% in 2023 and 8.6% in 2024. Expenditures excluding interest grew by 63.1% compared to the same month last year, reaching 819 billion 260 million TL. The realization rate of expenditures excluding interest according to budget allocations was 10.2% in 2023 and 8.3% in 2024.

As of October, the central government budget revenues amounted to 769 billion 207 million TL. Tax revenues were 643 billion 605 million TL, while non-tax revenues in the general budget totaled 106 billion 448 million TL.

In October 2023, budget revenues were 473 billion 750 million TL, and in the same month of 2024, they increased by 62.4%, reaching 769 billion 207 million TL. According to budget estimates, the realization rate of budget revenues in October was 9.6% in 2023 and 9.1% in 2024. The tax revenue collection for October 2024 increased by 57.2% compared to the same month last year, amounting to 643 billion 605 million TL. The realization rate of tax revenues according to budget estimates was 9.6% in 2023 and 8.7% in 2024."
