FTX Sues Anthony Scaramucci and Hedge Fund SkyBridge Capital
FTX has filed a lawsuit against Anthony Scaramucci and hedge fund SkyBridge Capital. The lawsuit against Scaramucci is one of 23 cases filed in Delaware bankruptcy court on Friday. According to court documents, the defendants include digital asset exchange Crypto.com and political groups such as FWD.US, founded by Mark Zuckerberg.
FTX alleges that during the 2022 crypto winter, founder Sam Bankman-Fried engaged in a "year-long campaign of influence peddling and made generous and ostentatious 'investments'." The filing states that one of the connections Bankman-Fried "poured significant time and money into" was Scaramucci, due to his "established financial, political, and social" network.
FTX is now pursuing these investments, claiming that they provided "little or no benefit" and instead "only served to bolster Bankman-Fried's position in the worlds of politics and traditional finance."
