Attention Car Owners: What You Need to Do to Avoid the Price Hike on January 1st

Starting from 2025, TÜVTÜRK will implement a significant increase in vehicle inspection fees under the new tariff framework. The inspection fees for automobiles, minibuses, vans, special purpose vehicles, off-road vehicles, trailers, semi-trailers, motorcycles, tractors, buses, trucks, tow trucks, and tankers will be raised by 43.93%.

This decision has raised concerns among vehicle owners who are questioning vehicle inspections and adjusting their budgets.

According to the new price list set by TÜVTÜRK, inspection fees for tractors (with and without trailers), motorcycles, and motorbikes will increase from 927.6 TL to 1,335.09 TL. Owners of automobiles, minibuses, vans, special purpose vehicles, off-road vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers will pay 2,621.82 TL in the new year. For buses, trucks, tow trucks, and tankers, inspection fees have been set at 3,544.13 TL.

Scheduling inspections in advance is crucial to avoid the price increase.

There is an important opportunity for vehicle owners whose inspections expire in January 2025. By booking an appointment in December 2024, they can have their inspections completed without being affected by the new year's increased tariffs. Vehicle owners are taking advantage of this opportunity by checking their inspection expiration dates to minimize their expenses.

Even in cases where a negative result is obtained due to significant defects during the vehicle inspection, solutions are provided. In such cases, if the defect is resolved within one month, the inspection can be repeated free of charge, with a validity extension of 2 years for private vehicles and 1 year for commercial vehicles. Particularly for those who undergo inspection by December 31, 2024, and benefit from the old tariff, if they fail due to major defects, they can rectify the issues and schedule another inspection appointment by January 31, 2025. This way, the inspection periods for all commercial or private vehicles are extended.
