Pegasus Wins 2024 CAPA Global Environmental Sustainability Airline of the Year Award
Foreks - Pegasus Airlines (IS:PGSUS); after receiving a regional award from CAPA in 2023, was honored with the title of “Global Environmental Sustainability Airline of the Year” at the 2024 CAPA Sustainability Awards. Supporting the sustainability goals of aviation with its slogan "Our Route is a Sustainable Future," Pegasus Airlines received the award at the 2024 CAPA Asia Aviation Summit and Sustainability Awards, organized by CAPA (Centre for Aviation), one of the most trusted market analysis sources for the aviation and travel industry. Ali Uzun, Chief Legal Counsel and Sustainability Director of Pegasus Airlines, accepted the award on behalf of the company at a ceremony held in Hong Kong on November 5, 2024.
Pegasus Airlines, which won the “Environmental Sustainability Airline Award for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa Region” at the CAPA Sustainability Awards in 2023, has extended its success to a global level this year following an independent assessment of airline emissions data, thus earning the “Global Environmental Sustainability Airline of the Year” award. Airlines awarded in various categories were selected based on independently obtained and analyzed data from the CAPA-Envest Global Environmental Sustainability Research Report conducted by CAPA.

Managing its operations and activities with a focus on a “sustainable environment,” Pegasus Airlines aims to reduce flight-related carbon (CO2) emissions per revenue passenger kilometer (RPK) by 20% by 2030 compared to 2019, and to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, as part of its ESG strategy and Climate Transformation Roadmap. Key pillars of Pegasus’s sustainability strategy include investments in next-generation aircraft, targets for fuel efficiency and expanding SAF usage, and solutions to enhance operational efficiency, such as increasing the use of electric ground service vehicles at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
