"Turkcell Receives 'Positive EIA' Decision for Siverek 1, 2, and 3 Solar Power Plants"

Foreks - Turkcell (IS:TCELL) received a "positive" decision regarding the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Siverek 1 Solar Power Plant (GES), Turkcell Siverek 2 GES, and Turkcell Siverek 3 GES projects.

In a statement made on the website of the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment Permission and Supervision, the following information was provided:

"In ŞANLIURFA province, within the Siverek district, on the land recorded on the N42-B-14-B map, parcel number 105, a total area of 1,352,517.08 m², of which 888,712.90 m² is earmarked for use, and 844,274.84 m² falls within the implementation area, the projects planned by Turkcell İletişim Hizmetleri A.Ş. include Turkcell Siverek 1 GES with a capacity of 35.64 MWm/29.2 MWe-39.87 ha, Turkcell Siverek 2 GES with 27.39 MWm/22.44 MWe-30.52 ha, and Turkcell Siverek 3 GES with 12.81 MWm/10.56 MWe-13.99 ha. The Environmental Impact Assessment Report submitted to our Ministry was reviewed and evaluated by the Commission. In accordance with Article 14 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulation, considering the Commission’s studies and public opinions, our Ministry issued a 'Positive Environmental Impact Assessment Decision.' Additionally, the ŞANLIURFA Governorship (Department of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change) is required to announce the decision to the public. Moreover, compliance with the provisions of the relevant regulations arising from the Environmental Law No. 2872, as well as obtaining the necessary permits from relevant institutions/organizations in accordance with the current legislation, is required."
