Republicans Gain 1 Seat in the Senate, Tying Seat Distribution at 50-50 in the U.S.
Forex - While a presidential election is taking place in the U.S., one third of the Senate and the House of Representatives are also undergoing elections. Democrats are on the verge of losing their majority in the Senate. According to Edison Research, the Republicans appear to have won 23 out of the 34 contested seats. This would result in a 50-50 distribution in the Senate. For the Republicans to gain the majority, they need to secure one more seat.
