Weekly Steel Production Decreased in the U.S.
Foreks - Raw steel production in the U.S. showed a weekly decrease. According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), raw steel production for the week ending November 2 fell by 1.9% compared to the previous week, totaling 1 million 629 thousand tons. Production was down 2.5% compared to the same month of the previous year. Steel producers operated at 73.3% capacity during the week in question. Year-to-date production has decreased by 2.1% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 74 million 111 thousand tons. The capacity utilization rate of steel producers during this period was recorded at 76.1%.
