Istanbul Stock Exchange Starts the Day on a High Note: Which Stocks Made an Impact at Opening?
The BIST 100 index started the day with an increase of 0.53%, reaching 9,079.84 points.
The BIST 100 closed at 9,031.83 points, down 2.18% in yesterday’s trading. The daily trading volume of the index was 83.7 billion TL, constituting 75.5% of the total volume. In BIST 100, 10 stocks gained value while 89 recorded declines. The index began the new day with positive momentum. In the initial trades, the opening gains were maintained, with the banking, metal, and SME sectors standing out. The technology and construction sectors recorded losses in the first hour.
Today, the focus in the domestic market will be on the Central Bank's interest rate decision. The interest rate is expected to remain stable at the 50% level, while the tone of the decision text is under scrutiny. Recently, there has been a perception that interest rate cuts may begin in December following the inflation report, and the central bank's signals regarding interest rates will be closely monitored in the decision text. The BIST starting with response buying can be interpreted as the market beginning to price in these expectations.

In the domestic foreign exchange market, the dollar/TL rose around 0.1% to 34.47 in the morning hours, euro/TL increased by 0.2% to 36.45, and gram gold rose by 1.2% to reach 2,956 TL.
In the international markets, there is a mixed outlook in Asian indices this morning. European markets saw selling yesterday, while US indices closed the day in an uncertain manner. In the morning hours, European and US futures are showing selling movements.
