Producer Prices in the U.S. Align with Monthly Expectations

Foreks - Following the consumer prices announced in the U.S. yesterday, analysts have turned their attention to the October producer prices, which increased by 0.2% on a monthly basis, aligning with expectations. On an annual basis, it exceeded expectations with a 2.4% increase, compared to the forecast of 2.3%.

According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), core producer prices, excluding food and energy, increased by 0.3% month-over-month and 3.1% year-over-year in October. Analysts had predicted a monthly increase of 0.3% and an annual increase of 3.0%.

Additionally, excluding food, energy, and trade, producer prices rose by 0.3% monthly and 3.3% annually.

Energy prices fell by 0.3% on a monthly basis, while food prices decreased by 0.2%.

The producer price increase for personal consumption products was recorded at 0.1%.
