The “Corporate Governance – Imperative of Economy Liberalisation in Kazakhstan” Forum, organized by the Kazakhstan Independent Directors Association (QID), took place on November 7, Friday, at the Astana International Financial Centre in Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the Forum, the Turkey Corporate Governance Association (TKYD) and the Kazakhstan Independent Directors Association (QID) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on enhancing corporate governance standards in the Central Asia region.
The collaboration protocol signed during the Astana Corporate Governance Forum between the Turkey Corporate Governance Association (TKYD) and the Kazakhstan Independent Directors Association (QID) marks the first step towards cooperation among business organizations operating in Turkish states in the upcoming period. TKYD and QID expressed their commitment to include other business organizations from Turkish states in agreements and work together toward implementing corporate governance practices with a shared understanding and will.
Güray Karacar, the Secretary General of TKYD, attended the Forum as a Guest of Honor and delivered the opening speech of the event. In his address, Karacar noted that with the 21 years of experience of the Turkey Corporate Governance Association, they are ready to collaborate with organizations in Kazakhstan and other Turkish states to promote and implement corporate governance practices and best practices in the region.
The agreement supports the goals of improving and enhancing corporate governance practices in Turkey and Kazakhstan, while also fostering collaborations in efforts to disseminate the best international practices in corporate governance and to effectively implement these practices in both the private and public sectors.
