ECB's Holzmann: Trump's Policies Will Create Upward Pressure on Inflation

Forex - Robert Holzmann, a member of the European Central Bank’s Governing Council and the Governor of the Austrian National Bank, stated that the policies to be implemented by Donald Trump after taking office as President of the United States will create upward pressure on inflation on both sides of the Atlantic. Holzmann noted, “What he says is serious and will likely be implemented faster than we expect. If that is the case, what do the markets anticipate? Interest rates will remain higher, and inflation will also be higher,” emphasizing that this will exert upward pressure on both dollar and Eurozone inflation.
